Elijah Craig Toasted Barrel Whiskey Review

Today, we’re taking a deep dive into Elijah Craig’s Toasted Barrel Whiskey.

Label/Type: Elijah Craig Toasted Barrel – Straight Bourbon Whiskey

Proof: 94 Proof, or 47% ABV

Price: $49.99 at my local liquor store

Nose: From the moment I cracked open the bottle, I was hit with a powerful scent of vanilla and caramel. The toasted oak aroma is very prevalent, but it’s not too overpowering, which is a good thing. The nose is complex and inviting, with hints of honey, brown sugar, and a subtle spice.

Taste: This whiskey is remarkably smooth with a sweet, buttery taste that goes down easily. The first sip reveals notes of vanilla and honey, followed by a rich, caramel flavor. As you drink, a subtle oakiness emerges, which is complemented by a hint of black pepper. It has a delightful balance of flavors, with no one note overpowering the others. It’s a truly enjoyable experience.

Finish: The finish is medium to long, with a nice warmth that lingers. It leaves behind a gentle sweetness that makes you want to go back for more.

Overall review: 9/10. It’s a great sipping whiskey that can be enjoyed neat, on the rocks, or even in a cocktail. If you’re a fan of Elijah Craig’s other offerings, this one is definitely worth a try. Highly recommended.  Double Oak Approved!
