Whiskey Review : Eagle Rare 10 year
Eagle Rare Whiskey Review
Eagle Rare is a 10-year-old single barrel bourbon whiskey produced by the Buffalo Trace Distillery. This whiskey has a 45% ABV (90 proof), and is a true gem of the bourbon world.
Price: I picked up this bottle for $39.99 at my local liquor store.
Nose: Upon opening the bottle, I was greeted with the aroma of toasted oak and caramel. The scent is rich and complex, with notes of vanilla and a hint of spice. It’s a delightful fragrance that immediately gets you excited about what’s to come.
Taste: Sipping Eagle Rare neat, I immediately noticed how incredibly smooth it is. The mouthfeel is silky, with flavors of honey, vanilla, and toffee. The spiciness is subtle, with a hint of cinnamon and nutmeg. The oak notes are prominent, but not overpowering, adding a lovely depth of flavor to the whiskey. It finishes with a warm, lingering, and slightly dry aftertaste.
Overall review: 9.5/10. Eagle Rare is a remarkable bourbon that deserves a place in every whiskey lover's collection. Its smoothness and complexity make it perfect for sipping neat, but it would also make an excellent base for an old-fashioned or other whiskey cocktails. The price point makes it an exceptional value for such a high-quality product. Don't hesitate to try this whiskey. Highly recommended.
